Hi!

I'm Whitney. Welcome to my little slice of the Internet, where I talk about life in Seattle and our travels beyond it. I have a handsome husbro I may have met outside of a bar, two crazy felines, and two kiddos, too. It’s a lot, so I’m not always spending as much time here as I’d like. Do you like reality TV, sampling all the products, and pickled veggies? Same!

I'm so glad  you're here.

Brand Next Door: Tubby Todd Bath Co.

I’ve been slowly pulling together my first ever holiday gift guide and as I was congratulating myself for all the fun products I’m including, I thought Ehhh, how have I not written a dedicated post on Tubby yet? So, before the gift guide must come the deep dive.

When ODP was teeny, I spent a lot of time on mommy Facebook groups where there were thousands of members who crowd-sourced everything from what middle name they should put with a gender-neutral girl name to how they should deal with their in-laws. At least once a month, someone asked about bath products and every.single.time dozens of comments came in singing the praises of Tubby Todd Bath Co. I figured if these moms whose babies all seemed to have crazy sensitive skin loved these products, I would, too.

I started following them on Instagram, where they often host giveaways and collaborate with other fun baby brands. I read about the history of the company on their website, how it was created by a mom whose family had problems with eczema, and that they were based in SoCal. I chatted with them at a pop up mommy event at a Lighthouse Park nearby. I began placing orders with one of my girlfriends to hit their free shipping thresholds before my addiction got bigger. Like those mommies in the Facebook groups, I became a super fan.

What I love so much about Tubby is that their standards are so high: each product smells light and delicious, their packaging is often co-created with mommy artists, and it is clean. I am a person who researches, and I got very excited about baby bubble baths when ODP was born. I tried at least half a dozen and finally, Raz said: “Just keep buying Tubby. All the other bubbles are whack.” For a husband to notice bubble quality says everything.

My habit over the past three years has gotten to a point where I give Tubby as gifts and place several orders for us per year (I can’t resist their seasonal scents—I am only human!). I use the bubbles during my Teen Mom Tuesday self care nights when I blissfully turn into a raisin in our bathtub while consuming my favorite reality TV. I guess they noticed, so they asked me to hawk products on their behalf now, an honor I do not take lightly. If you haven’t tried them and you’re interested, use my link for 10% off: https://try.tubbytodd.com/whitneypopa. I don’t have the time or energy to hawk stuff I don’t care about, so you can trust I’m giving you the real real.

And, might I suggest their Holiday Cranberry Mandarin scent as stocking stuffers? You know I’ll be putting it in my own stocking, because if you want something done right, you’ve often gotta do it yourself.
