Hi!

I'm Whitney. Welcome to my little slice of the Internet, where I talk about life in Seattle and our travels beyond it. I have a handsome husbro I may have met outside of a bar, two crazy felines, and two kiddos, too. It’s a lot, so I’m not always spending as much time here as I’d like. Do you like reality TV, sampling all the products, and pickled veggies? Same!

I'm so glad  you're here.

Brand Next Door: Bed Voyage Bamboo

Brand Next Door: Bed Voyage Bamboo

A few months ago, after meeting their Marketing Director at my favorite shop, Little Bipsy, I did a consulting project with Bed Voyage Bamboo. As it turns out, the owner of Bed Voyage is the aunt of the owner of Little Bipsy’s! Those sentences always read weird, but you get my drift. The entrepreneurial spirit seems to be genetic there. One morning this summer while ODP was at school, Baby B and I headed over to their HQ in Woodinville to chat about all things influencer marketing. By some miracle, Baby B slept through the whole two hour meeting. On our way home, she blew out her car seat, but if that’s as bad as it got, I was more than fine with it.

To compensate me for my time, Bed Voyage offered product. I told them my husband was eager to have his lifelong wish of warm feet at night granted and was hoping to purchase a California King bed sometime in the nearish future #tallpeopleproblems. Did they have any white duvets? I asked. They loaded me up with a duvet, the softest Panda Baby towel and washcloths ever, and sent me on my way. I was giddy!

Every year for Christmas, Raz and I like to get ourselves something more expensive for the house at a big discount. Very unsexy things like washer/dryers, iPads, etc. This year, he REALLY wanted a treadmill. I felt pretty meh about that idea, but it seemed important to him, so I let my bed plans slide since I knew a whole new bed situation would be at least twice the investment. When all his research was done, he was too late to snag the deals he wanted, so we revisited the bed convo. Was now the time?

I’d been eyeing the new design service, Modsy, for a while, too. I’d seen them pop up in ads on places like Pinterest and was intrigued because Raz and I like to do things ourselves. We know our style and what we’re attracted to, but we sometimes need an idea of where to begin. In a You know what? YOLO moment, I grabbed their Black Friday deal to help us design one room for $70ish, took their style quiz, snapped some pics, sent them measurements, and waited. In the meantime, we’d toured around furniture row to look for beds. We LOVE us some CB2 and Resto, but you never know what you’ll find on furniture row, and for much better prices, at that.

All of this is to say, we ended up with a whole new bed setup to best showcase my beautiful white Bed Voyage duvet that had been staring at me for months in our room. It is SO soft, Oeko-Tex, and made from organically-grown bamboo. I love that they say it’s panda-friendly, too. They started by creating luxury bedding specifically for travel and, after getting huge demand for their bamboo products, expanded into traditional bedding and linens: sheets, duvets, coverlets, shams, blankets, crib bedding and towels.

If you’re refreshing your room (or looking for a cute hooded baby towel + wash cloths), Bed Voyage is a fabulous bet. I’ve ordered the Panda Baby towel set for baby showers and popped in to their HQ to grab it from the front desk, which I love being able to do. They’re local and doing great things—they’re one of my favorite brands next door.

And, if you like white linens like we do, make sure to shop their Winter Whites sale for 30% off!
